This research project provided my perspectives as an artist-teacher in the classroom, “Teaching Visual Art at Post-Primary School: How can I motivate students to sustain interest in a project idea and bring it to completion?” The findings of this study advocate for the implementation of student-directed learning in secondary-level education in the visual arts curriculum through the practice of observation, review, and analysis to acquire learning growth while evaluating pedagogical techniques.
